FutureMeme was founded in July 2008 by Darren Herman, a digital media entrepreneur and advertising executive residing in New York with a beautiful wife and child (on it’s way!).
To be honest, FutureMeme is a product of having too much free time while on vacation. However, while thinking about the idea further, I wanted to have a place where anyone can become a futurist. With people contributing their visions for the future from all over the globe, we can amass all of this information in one place and hopefully take action on it for positive change, be it social, technological, or economical.
About 10 years ago, while in high school, I was asked to enter Sony’s #1 Wired Student in America Competition. The entry form was academic, but also, a vision statement on the future of technology. Apparently, they liked my paper so much that I ended up finishing 2nd in the competition amongst tens of thousands of students. I cannot however find the paper, so I’m hoping that if Sony reads this, they can produce it so I can post it here for all to see.
The goal of FutureMeme is to provide access to futurist essays, thoughts, and content from anyone around the world.
